BIRDS! If you are going to feed the birds, then FEED THE BIRDS!

I went to the store last night and bought a huge bag of bird seed. But, at lunch I put out some old biscuits out for them instead. Here this afternoon I am running around cleaning house for a dinner party tonight, I shut off the heat and opened the back door. I forgot to pull the screen closed. In between my running from the kitchen to other parts of the house I passed the living room and saw a BIRD SITTING ON MY LIVING ROOM FLOOR! He startled me, I startled him and out he flew with such a nice glide. He flew straight to the climbing rose bush on the back fence. To think that I almost cut that bush back this past fall. I'm glad I didn't because the birds come, sit there, meet each other and eat from the bird feeder.

So I quickly opened the big bag of seed, filled the bird seed can and fed the birds. Whew! Now I have to get back to the house cleaning. I'm just wondering if that little birdie left me a present on my living room floor? ha Don't you know he has a story to tell at the bird feeder tonight. "Yea, I flew straight into that old lady's house. She didn't even catch me!" ha

Happy Saturday to all! Terri

Maybe the little tweety pie wanted a morsel of the dinner you were preparing for your dinner guests? I hope you were not preparing any "poultry".

How lucky he went gliding back OUT instead of heading for a safe looking place inside! One of our cats once managed to catch a small sparrow and brought it in through the cat door. That poor little bird kept trying to fly through the window with the cat in hot pursuit and us in hot pursuit after the cat. We finally managed to catch it and sent it back outside, exhausted but at least not cat lunch.

I also love feeding the birds. Unfortunaty a little one flew right into our colsed window yesterday, and flew right up to God. May be he had a message to tell from my garden :-) A few squirrels are busy on the feeder as I write this, so the birds are waiting unpatiently in the huge pine trees.

Hi, Terri! Just came home from doing my 2 weeks job in Upper Austria and had a quick glimpse at your blog. Well done, girl! And good luck with it. Also found your letter on my desk. Will write back soon. And when you go and visit Gubbio next time don't forget that Italy and Austria are neighbours :-) Hugs, Dagmar
