Oklahoma City National Memorial

168 Empty Chairs

The chairs symbolizing the abscence felt by family members and friends. The chairs are placed in nine rows, representing the nine floors of the building. The chairs are placed according to the floor on which those killed worked or were visiting. The smaller chairs represent the abscence of the 19 children.

The Living Tree (appreared in Elizabethtown)

Original fountain not destroyed by the blast.

9:02 The bomb went off.
This is the fence which surrounds the children's playground.

The crosses have bells on them to ring out violence against children.

This is the first time that I have been down there. We went the night they said stopped the rescue search. I have driven by it - but not stopped and walked through it. The evening was so cool and nice.

One little boy and his MOM(ugh) stepped into the reflection pool. The park security was all over them.

I went to the bombing site on May 4th before they reached the pancake area. I can't begin to tell you the evil that hung in the air. The looks on a group of rescue workers as they walked by and the small pieces of glass blocks away, I'll never forget. I had federal jury duty a couple of years ago and a group of us on our way to lunch walked by the memorial, one lady asked that we take the long way as it was still too painful for her to walk thru it.
