Thoughts and Ramblings

Life has been so busy these past weeks. So many things that need to be done. I have had several thoughts come and go that I just thought I would put them down in writing and get them OUT OF MY HEAD!

Thought #1 - Just maybe that person in front of me, the one who is driving as slow as molasses in January, is really my Guardian Angel telling me to SLOW DOWN and enjoy life.

Thought #2 - I miss my childhood neighborhood. I miss those wonderful summers when we had slumber parties, drove to Dairy Queen for a Cherry Coke, ate guacomole for the first time, sat on the curb waiting for the pizzas to be delivered, walking up and down the street talking girl talk, swinging in my backyard looking at the stars and my girlfriends.

Thought #3 - I miss my old neighborhood we had here when we moved in 30 years ago. We were all young couples with our first house. Kids came a few years later and they all ran up and down the street. We had neighborhood block parties and you could always borrow an egg or two from your neighbor. We are one of four orginal first owners left on our street. Now we wave as we drive by.

Thought # 4 - As we get older we should be around kids and young people as much as possible. There is a lot we can learn from them.
Ciao!

Ah, we share similar thoughts--of carefree childhood summer days and wonderful memories of moving into our neighborhood 30 years ago! Now WE are the older members of the neighborhood who watch younger couples and families move in---time passes too quickly so yes, let us savor the moments! Thanks for jogging my memories, Terri, of cherished golden days! Pam W.

I AM one of Terri's old girlfriends from that same matured neighborhood she writes of. We had some great times. Also, I remember sitting on the curb at the street, looking up in the sky at night, while they walked on the moon. We had childhood 4th of July parades (kids only) and we rode bikes, played college in the basement where it was cool in the summertime, and there was always a fresh litter of kittens to play with. Thanks, Terri!!
