Just Stuff

This is what our skies have looked like for the last 21 days. We are now more so in a state of mildew than ever before. Trust me I don't mind this type of weather - it's one of my favorites, unless I get caught out in a monsoon without an umbrella. Baseball games get cancelled, rescheduled and finally played in mud. The yards need to be mowed every two days because of the rain.

This is VACATION week. Many things to do and I know it will fly by and I'll be ready for another one. Yesterday, I saw my niece, I, in the play Lil' Abner. It was so cute. While shopping in a cutesy-wootsy-posy shop before the play I spotted an old toy just like I used to have when I was about seven. It is a clown made from YO-YOs. I made a comment about having one of those when I was little. An older man standing nearby made a comment about being careful I was showing my showing my age. I told him I was way over that - I don't care if you know my age (51) and I sure don't mind showing it. I was a child of the '60s ( a young child) but the scene stayed with me. I wore love beads, a Pat Paulson for President t-shirt, Hot Pink bellbottoms with yellow polka dots and a blouse to match, I made sand candles, I wore Canvas Tennis shoes I dyed green (way before my time), I did macrame, I still LOVE THE BEATLES and even though the fashion is coming back today - I really don't want to wear it again. The peasant blouses are nice but it is made for the younger kids. Even though I am still 18 in my mind many times. I don't want to dress like an 18 year old.
Still knitting on the CLAPOTIS. I need to take some pictures of my progress. I am at the stage where I am hoping I have enough yarn/thread to finish it. I think of wearing it in the UK while I knit it. I can't imagine that some knitters have made more than one of them. It does get a bit tedious.
Have a GREAT week! Ciao!
