SSF - Summer So Far

We have had so much rain this summer, over ten inches. I think we can say we are out of the drought. Lakes, creeks, rivers and ponds are up so much that Lake Arcadia had to close some recreational areas. This will really hurt with the holiday weekend coming up.

This is what blooms when given the drink they need. The sunflower is a volunteer from the bird seed set out in the spring. (The weeds below it are also volunteers.)

This is "Maggie" my red clover plant from my dear friend, Maggie. I have taken several plantings off of it and have spread it's beauty throughout the flower beds. (If you are local and want some - let me know.)

Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my pleasure to introduce to you the one and only Mr. Cary Grant. (Rose)

This purple phlox is a heritage plant from Grandma D.

Now this is what happens when you have too much rain. The green beans have drowned so there won't be much more canning going on.

The tomatoes are drowning too. DH picked one Roma tomato last night and I had it on a sandwich today at lunch. Here today, gone tomorrow.

Ciao!
