Finishing Day 4 - York
Finishing up our first day out through the midlands, we stopped and had a bite to eat at the Wedgewood Pottery. They are open seven days a week. This is Paul. He is a retired art teacher and was ASKED to come work for Wedgewood. He is creating a piece of pottery that is only made here and sold for tourists. However, Paul told me that some people come in on a regular basis and buy up some stock and sell it on E-Bay. Paul makes a piece in which the clay is a marblized mix of different colors. He seemed to really enjoy his job. Atta boy Paul.

This lady has the art of fine line painting on figurines.

NOW this is what I wanted to bring home for the porch and patio. Isn't it cool?!
As we leave the Wedgewood Pottery and head north to York we have nice views of the British countryside. No that car is not on the wrong side of the motorway. Trust me that part was a bit hard to get used too.
First stop in York on the way to the Catherdal is at "WHIP-MA-WHOP-MA GATE". Many years ago in ancient times, the men of York would bring their womenfolk down to this corner to whip/beat them. They don't do this today because we are at work earning a living for them. ha All kidding aside - they know we would whip THEM.

Lyndon our tour guide told us that this would not be another ABC Tour. Huh? Another Bloody Church Tour. ha The Catherdral in York is a working Catherdral, as most of them are, and is very nice. It was too dark inside to take pictures.

We drive on to our hotel, the Blackwell Grange, which was a stately home at one time and is very eloquent. We had drinks and a very nice dinner. The waiters and waitresses were so very kind.
We had our first rain here and it was so peaceful. Next we go further north to SCOTLAND! I can't wait.
Ciao!

BRITT-ANRHILD - NOOOOOO WAAAAY!
The universal travel rule as I know it is that you do not eat in a restaurant that you can eat at home. I ate at a local place and just sat in McDonalds out of the rain.
