Onward to the English Midlands - Day 4

Now THIS is the ENGLISH you and I want to see. There are some thatched roof cottages which we passed along our way. We were told these roofs can last for 30 yeas. This is William Shakespere's house. We arrived in Stratford-upon-Avon (a river) early Sunday morning. The church bells were ringing (I thought of you Gabi) and hardly anyone was walking around outside. We walked over to the outside market and bought a few things.A backside view of the gardens.

Moving on we go to Coventry. Coventry is where Lady Godiva is from. We didn't see any naked people riding on horseback nor did we see any chocolate. We stopped to see the Catherdal which was damaged during a German bombing raid during WWII. The new catherdal is built next to the old one. Services were going on while we quitely walked the grounds. Enjoy the pictures and the architecture.

Ha - I knew I was at home here.

The Guardian Angel Michael casting Satan out of heaven.

The peace and serentity here was very calming. Next we will drive down the countryside to the Potteries.
Ciao!

Thank you for posting these! I've done a lot of English travel, but always missed Coventry.

OOOh, if only I could have wiggled my nose "just right" so that I could have made myself small enough to pop into your tote and enjoy these fabulous days with you!! I'm loving the photos and comments--keep 'em coming! They're the next best thing to having been right there with you myself!
