It's been a while

I had a lovely lunch with my friend Emily on Friday. Italian food is always good, but it is really at its best when shared with friends. Emily mentioned in passing that it has been a while since I have posted here. Yes it has. Seems like a lot has been happening yet when looking back over the past weeks - it appears just to be life itself.
The lilacs are blooming and they are one of my favorite flowers. I love their scent and wished so much that they would bloom all summer long. I think there is a form of lilacs that do, called the Butterfly Bush. I just don't have enough landscape space for another bush. I have a heritage yellow rose bush my MIL gave me to plant somewhere.

What life consists of:
We endured a week of rain and cold weather. I'm a nut. The kind that really enjoys that kind of weather. I had a nice evening of knitting with a roaring fire (I confess not very green of me.) and the rain hitting the house outside. Now it is sunny and cold (freeze warnings) and I will have to cover the Banana tree sprouts.
I learned this week that my eye doctor, one of the best in the nation, is leaving and going to Harvard Medical School to work on the Artificial Cornea research project. I will miss him terribly as a friend and as my doctor. He is really good. Good luck to you Doctor C.
FIL had another stint put in his arteries. This is number 15. Please keep him in your prayers.
I have another post that has been playing heavy on my mind - but it will have to wait. Not quite there yet. I will need your thoughts and comments once I do write it.
Primer isn't feeling well. He has a UTI and we had a Vet visit this week.
Saturday - lunch with old friends from grade school and high school. Shoe shopping to help me with my feet problems. I shelled out a pretty penny - but these two things at the bottom of my legs keep me standing up and walking. I hope the course I take here will help with the problems I am having with my ankle.
Please keep Susan B in your prayers.
If you have not seen the "Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch, I highly recommend that you do. His book is out now and it is all very interesting. His interview on 20/20 last Friday night was great.
Wishing you all a lovely Sunday. Ciao!

Yay, an update!
I love the smell of lilacs, too! It reminds me of us walking to jr. high and stopping to smell the one huge bush on the way. The "lady" of the house yelled out the door for us not to pick the flowers. We were truly only smelling them!
