My Summer Staycation
A picture is worth a thousand words. I won't use quite a thousand to tell you how my Summer Staycation is going. I have a tear in a ligament in my left ankle. Which really isn't as bad as it could be. It could be a "torn" ligament and that is far worse than my "tear". I have to wear this walking boot for six weeks; three down, three to go. This boot helps the ligament repair itself and I can tell that is working. I am in my tennis shoes now and it feels fine. Life with this boot can be a bit wearing. Stairs are a royal pain and getting in and out of the car isn't very graceful. However, being at the Lake House over the 4th of July was a killer. It was hot and all I could do was read and knit. Well, come to think of it, it wasn't THAT bad. The book was really good, The Whole Truth, David Baldacci.
I finished a pair of socks. They are tennis socks. You know - this can all be confusing. Tennis shoes, tennis socks and I don't even play tennis. I watched a little bit of Wimbledon, but I just can't call them sneakers. When I say the word "sneakers" I picture a pair of red P F Flyers, which I never had. But, now I have orange socks. Yeah. I hope to make more socks using this pattern. It is broken down into baby steps and that's really good for me.
I canned about 16 jars of green beans so far this summer. We are STILL waiting for the tomatoes to turn red for us. I checked them tonight and one is a little darker orange than my socks at this point. I'm not sure if I'll be making salsa this year or not.
We are missing our sweet Noodles. She was here about three weeks ago and she hasn't been back since. I'm not sure where she could be. I call for her every time I am outside. I drive around the block to see if she is on the next street and don't see her. Please say a little prayer for this precious little kitty. I think she is about 12 years old.
She is where she should be.
Ciao!
