A week in review - Part 1
This has been a busy week. Several things happening that I took in stride and made the best of it all. A short trip to Seattle with a little work and a chance for a mini-vacation. Of course i arrived in Seattle in typical winter fashion - rain, mist, fog, drizzle and rain - repeat after rinse. I want to go to an old haunt - a yarn store. I was very disappointed in the new place and could tell that it must have new owners. The old shop was straight out of a knitter's fairy tale.

Farewell Seattle. I hope to return someday. You have many hidden treasures I have not found yet.
After I survived the wet streets and hills of downtown Seattle I figured the best place was to be in my room with my good book and knitting. I was able to finish my book, Very Valentine by Adriana Trigiani, and work a good deal on my knitting piece for my Kimono Sweater. (Two pieces down - three to go).
I was able to have my fish dinner that I was wanting so badly. I love Anthony's Homeport in Des Moines, Wa. I always order the Ling cod, with sour cream/dill sauce, rice pilaf and Asian Coleslaw.

As I was sitting there I started to notice my surroundings and jotted down this:
I am here alone to have lunch. It just worked out that way. The day is somewhat clear with a haze of clouds in the sky; grey and blue in color. The restaurant is crowded. I hear conversations going on all around me. A couple to my right, some businessmen behind me and two women who appear to be best friends sit across from me. Very relaxed. My lunch is Ling cod Dill, my favorite, with rice pilaf and Asian coleslaw.

There are a lot of boats in the harbor. Their masts are bare and some are dressed for the winter. The view across the sound to what may be Bremerton, or not - will have to check the map. This may be my last trip to this area and I am to savor this moment. The lunch was delicious and the scenery hasn't changed. My ice tea is almost gone and I am too full for dessert. Sitting in front of the window are three ladies who are having a girls lunch date/lunch. The piece of chocolate cake they are sharing looks yummy. Cheers to Anthony's Homeport and thank you for not changing.

Farewell Seattle. I hope to return someday. You have many hidden treasures I have not found yet.
Ciao!
