Lots going on...but nothing going as fast as time
You know the old saying "It's all relative."? We I was young playing Barbies in the front yard with Janice Rae and riding bikes up and down the street all day - time seemed to go on forever. Afternoons were lazy and birds were singing. The birds are still singing but the lazy part is rare to come by. I had some "free-free time" this afternoon and was working on a crossword puzzle and decided to shut the TV off and just have peace and quite. This little trick seemed to slow time down a bit for me. I might have to do that more often.
I've been doing so much "homefun" that it isn't even funny. The guest bedroom has it's new spring/summer bedding on it and is ready for guests to arrive. I love to see the lilac comforter on the bed. It is so inviting. A lilac candle in the room helps to set a springy mood.
During all this "homefun" I have been following the Fly Lady techniques. This really does help. Clean one room at a time and if something is in it that belongs somewhere else - take it to that room, leave it there, turn about face and go back to the original room and keep cleaning. It really does help to keep you organized and cuts the cleaning time down to half. I did this for the guest room, dining room and now I have the computer room (this room) left to clean/sort. I have a lot of de-cluttering to do in here. Which means not only cleaning off the desk with piles of paper - but the yarn closet as well.
So I have been very busy with all this cleaning and sorting that the Habitat for Humanity folks came and picked up a big pile of stuff. I now have another bag ready and will wait until I get another one done to make it work their wild.
On the knitting front I have learned to knit cables. woo hoo! It's not as hard as it looks. I just never took an interest in it until a friend was having a class and I signed up. Wouldn't you just love to have a studio to go to when you wanted to knit and visit with friends? I would and she has one. Lucky gal. I have always wanted a "room of my own" which I have never had in my whole life. This middle child of nine children has shared a room with a sibling, or two or three, or a husband. So, what I really want is a playhouse of my own. I want a room 21' X 21' which will be big enough for a small kitchenette for tea, a chaise lounge and table for books, book shelves for all the reading and craft books, a table to sit and visit at and room for the sewing machine. Heck I don't know if my dream room will be big enough for all that.... ha
Off to post another post with my spring flowers. I enjoy them so much. This year the front flower bed seemed to have a purple theme. hmmmm
Ciao!
